2007: JULY ICs :: It has happened Already!!
A Tabby & White goes best in Show!

Congratulations go to Ruth's Kudos (CFA GRC Ocalico's Kudos, Imp USA) who won Best in Show Persian at the Wiltshire, also Best of Variety, IC and Best of Breed. Yvonne Rogers' Gigi  - Liebekatz Gorgeous Girl won the tabby and white kitten open and BOB. Ruth now has both male ICs!!

UNE IC's :: We believe the following cats to be the first awarded ICs

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING OWNERS!!

Male Intermediate certificate Ruth Swain's Liebekatz Allstars Elite
Female Intermediate certificate and BOB Sue Hume's Larchvale Tapestry

Kitten BOB was Shou Irish Dancer dob 24/11/06.breed num:12a1t, owned by Joan Hammett - She is from Joan's USA Import CFA Grand Champion MacGlens River Dance 12a1t x Dam Shou Paquita 11. Her win was at the Celtic CC Show in June she had BOB nominated for best in show also a red card day. Previous shows has had three merits under the assessment scheme.

It seems fitting, that these established 'tabby' catteries are gaining the first ICs and accolades! And notice the USA Import's influence :-))

Please let us know if you have been awarded an IC in Tabby & White!
Please email me any amendments as well, as I do not have official results :-)

Our newest member Carole Stanaway has sent some pictures of her Raiscatz boy Gulliver, (see above!) who she hopes to campaign this season help us gain Championship status. Please see the Brown Tabby & white Album.

We need 10 adults with 3 ICs each, so please get those TWs on the bench! I know it is a problem in these summer months, my own adult Risingmoon Burnt Oak has no coat!
Also let Sally Tokens know of your results and the cat count, very important for Championship status.

Alan & Linda Wilson of Tytherton, have sent this lovely pic of their new tabby & white litter. They are from their boy Good Enough To eat and mum is Larchvale girl from Sue Hume.

We have some more additions to the image gallery, check it out!

Getting Ready for IC status in June 2007!

It is never too early to start planning your campaign! Because the GCCF committee meetings do not follow the path of the show season, we will start IC status in June, but the main meeting for submitting proposals/evidence for Championship status will be just a few months on in October.   This means we need 10 cats to gain the three ICs under different judges from June to October, 2007 if we expect Championship status for 2008! Can we do it?

For full details of Championship status, which is now OUR AGENDA! CLICK HERE

Reminder!! IF YOUR CAT/KITTEN IS ALREADY REGISTERED AS CSEXP (EXPERIMENTAL) - then all progeny are able to be registered under the new policy, regardless of background ancestors, AS LONG AS YOU ONLY BREED YOUR CAT TO A RECOMMENDED BREED COLOUR UNDER THE NEW POLICY. Good advice is to breed your CSEXPs to full register Breed colours, if you have undesirables in the background

Re: list of cat food recall! Includes North America, Europe - Cats & Dogs

http://www.menufoods.com/recall/product_cat.html

Pet food maker announces major recall
By ANDREW BRIDGES, Associated Press Writer 44 minutes ago A major
manufacturer of dog and cat food sold under Wal-Mart, Safeway, Kroger and
other store brands recalled 60 million containers of wet pet food Friday
after reports of kidney failure and deaths.

An unknown number of cats and dogs suffered kidney failure and about 10 died
after eating the affected pet food, Menu Foods said in announcing the North
American recall. Product testing has not revealed a link explaining the
reported cases of illness and death, the company said.

News! 11 August, 2006.

Tabby & whites - We have a new proposed amended Breed registration Policy (a few amendments) This was approved at the July 2006 meeting for tabby & whites only, as long as the missing requirement for the agouti gene was added. However, this was not acceptable to everyone and the RCT was not going to accept it. I spoke to Julia May on Monday and she was very supportive of the Tabby & Whites and said that in this instance we could be treated separately. RCT has thus agreed to the tabby & white policy, and accordingly this was passed at the BACs meeting today, and we are now on the October agenda, so we should go forward to IC status for June 2007! Sincere thanks to everyone for all their hard work in the background and behind the scenes. Carol - Admin.

Latest News from the Capital Cat Show ::
Liebekatz Caught My Heart
Hatti gained her 2nd kitten merit at the Capital show saturday the 7th of Jan 2006. Also 2 firsts in her side classes!

BREAKING NEWS
IC (Intermediate certificate)Status has been provisionally awarded but subject to validation at the October meeting later this year. Therefore the earliest possible IC award will be from the show season of 2007!! (June). Thanks to Sally Tokens for all her hard work. This means we cannot afford to relax, as this will not be validated until October, so we still need support on the show bench for your tabby & whites!! If it takes another couple of years to gain Championship status, this might take GCCF recognition to full Championship status to 2009/2010!!

Latest News from the Maidstone and medway Cat Show ::

This website has been developed for The Tabby & White Association, to promote the exhibition of the Tabby & White Persian Longhair in the UK. We envisage that the website will also complement other promoting activities, such as exhibition pens, newsletters etc. at GCCF shows.

We wish to generate public information, with info/pictures, list of interested breeders, owners, catteries and mostly exhibitors of tabby & white persian cats. We would welcome any suggestions, information etc from any other interested parties. The primary aim is to encourage the exhibiting of the persian longhair tabby & white on the show bench under GCCF rules.

This is an association formed for like minded people; who could be breeders, catteries, exhibitors, owners or lovers of the longhair tabby & white.

The only aim is to promote the exhibition and thus improvement, of the tabby & white longhair in the UK, which is at present in Preliminary status (the first step of recognition) with the GCCF cat fancy.

No funding is requested, all help and expenses at this point are voluntary.

We will be providing genetic information on tabbies, lots of pictures hopefully, breeder and exhibitor lists, exhibitor info and feedback; and information on their progress. Initially, it is expected that no 'committee' as such is formed, all members will have equal rights of input etc., but we will have a President for the *association to start with, to give the organisation meaningful validity. We have been very fortunate in that Sally Tokens (GCCF BACS for Tabby & White) has agreed to be our President! Sally will be our GCCF voice and expert, and under her guidance I am sure we can all make a difference collectively.

We sincerely hope that many newcomers and existing catteries will be attracted to this delightful longhair breed, and that one day we will see a tabby & white longhair go BIS!

http://www.tabbyandwhite.org.uk has been registered on behalf of the Association.

*association : an organised body of people who have an interest, activity, or purpose in common; a society.

Or email The Tabby and White Assc.
Please Note! This website is developing and we hope to add many new features soon. Please keep checking back!
