News! 11
August, 2006.
Tabby & whites - We
have a new proposed amended Breed registration Policy (a few
amendments) This was approved at the July 2006 meeting for
tabby & whites only, as long as the missing requirement
for the agouti gene was added. However, this was not acceptable
to everyone and the RCT was not going to accept it. I spoke
to Julia May on Monday and she was very supportive of the Tabby & Whites
and said that in this instance we could be treated separately.
RCT has thus agreed to the tabby & white policy, and accordingly
this was passed at the BACs meeting today, and we are now on
the October agenda, so we should go forward to IC status for
June 2007! Sincere thanks to everyone for all their hard work
in the background and behind the scenes. Carol - Admin.

News from the Capital Cat Show ::
Liebekatz
Caught My Heart Hatti gained her 2nd kitten merit
at the Capital show saturday the 7th of Jan 2006. Also 2 firsts
in her side classes!
BREAKING NEWS
IC (Intermediate certificate)Status has been provisionally awarded
but subject to validation at the October meeting later this year.
Therefore the earliest possible IC award will be from the show
season of 2007!! (June). Thanks to Sally Tokens for all her hard
work. This means we cannot afford to relax, as this will not be
validated until October, so we still need support on the show bench
for your tabby & whites!! If it takes another couple of years
to gain Championship status, this might take GCCF recognition to
full Championship status to 2009/2010!!

This website
has been developed for The Tabby & White Association,
to promote the exhibition of the Tabby & White Persian Longhair
in the UK. We envisage that the website will also complement other
promoting activities, such as exhibition pens, newsletters etc. at
GCCF shows.
We wish to generate public information, with info/pictures,
list of interested breeders, owners, catteries and mostly exhibitors
of tabby & white persian cats. We would welcome any suggestions,
information etc from any other interested parties. The
primary aim is to encourage the exhibiting of the persian longhair
tabby & white on the show bench under GCCF rules.
This is an association formed for like minded
people; who could be breeders, catteries, exhibitors, owners
or lovers of the longhair tabby & white.
The only aim is to promote the exhibition and
thus improvement, of the tabby & white longhair in the
UK, which is at present in Preliminary status (the first
step of recognition) with the GCCF cat fancy.
No funding is requested, all help and expenses
at this point are voluntary.
We will be providing genetic information on
tabbies, lots of pictures hopefully, breeder and exhibitor
lists, exhibitor info and feedback; and information on their
progress. Initially, it is expected that no 'committee' as
such is formed, all members will have equal rights of input
etc., but we will have a President for the *association to
start with, to give the organisation meaningful validity.
We have been very fortunate in that Sally Tokens (GCCF BACS
for Tabby & White) has agreed to be our President! Sally
will be our GCCF voice and expert, and under her guidance
I am sure we can all make a difference collectively.
We sincerely hope that many newcomers and existing
catteries will be attracted to this delightful longhair breed,
and that one day we will see a tabby & white longhair
go BIS!
http://www.tabbyandwhite.org.uk has been registered
on behalf of the Association.
*association
: an organised body of people who have an interest, activity,
or purpose in common; a society.

is developing and we hope to add many new features
soon. Please keep checking back!
